Post by jt830 Mon Jun 22, 2009 7:57 am

hey recently my disc drive has decided to be a bitch and only recgonise some disks some of the time.
I recently installed WOW and tried to install the burning crusade expansion but it decided not to read the burning crusade disk.

also about a week ago i had to reinstall a game so i did and when i put the disk back in it was not read/recognised for some reason.

if anyone has any solutions then plz tell me as i need to get this working.

Disk Drive Acting Up Empty Re: Disk Drive Acting Up

OK, I take it we are talking about the Optical Disk Drive and not the Hard Disk Drive.

A few things I need to know:

Do you have two optical disk drives in your machine?

What is the make and model of the drive/s?

If the drive/s are a DVD-RW can you burn a CD-RW or a DVD-RW disk at the moment? Does it complete the process of burning a disk?

Some games disks only like to be played on the optical drive that it was install on, so if you do have two Optical Drives try to swap the disk over to the other drive.

I think I've got a pretty good idea what's wrong with it, but need a bit more info from you first.
